A new vehicle bought with a manufacturer’s fleet discount pays $3.50 per $100, which is not modelled. There is no hybrid concession.
The MAIB premium is already inside the registration fee. For a private car it is $305 a year ($244 for pensioners), plus $20 duty. A medium motorcycle is $630 and a small motorcycle is $198.
Electric and hydrogen cars pay the same registration fee as a 4 cylinder car. The stamp duty exemption covered registrations up to 31 December 2023 and has ended. No road user charge for electric vehicles has been found on official pages. Earlier rebate schemes are not included.
